On USA Today a police officer was killed on her very first shift in Virginia. “An Army sergeant killed his wife following a day-long domestic dispute and then fatally shot a responding police officer working her first shift on the job, police said Sunday. Sgt. Ronald Hamilton, 32, faced two counts of murder, two counts of assault and weapons offenses after the shooting spree Saturday that also left two other officers wounded. Officer Ashley Guindon, 28, had joined the force in ceremonies Friday, Prince William County Police Chief Steve Hudson said. He said the officers were responding to a 911 call from Hamilton’s wife, Crystal, when they approached the front door.”

My article is about 30 researchers are trapped at a installation in Antarctica. It is on USA Today. “A specially equipped plane from the U.S. Antarctic Program will fly to the rescue of 30 researchers trapped at an Australian station on the frozen continent after an icebreaker poised to bring them home ran aground in a blizzard.” The rescue plane is american made and is strongly equipped for rescue missions such as this. “The American plane, an LC130, is equipped with skis for ice landings. The plane will scoop up 30 expeditioners from Davis research station, the most southerly of Antarctic stations, and deposit them at an airstrip-equipped station “in the coming days” — presumably when the weather is more agreeable — the Australian Antarctica Division said. From there a more conventional Airbus owned by the Australians can whisk them home.”

My article is on USA Today and is about a teen girl who was impaled during a basketball game. The girl had been impaled by a broken floor board and was taken to the hospital where she stayed the night. Luckily she was not seriously injured. Officials said it was a fluke accident.

My article is on USA Today. It is titled, “9-foot-long anaconda found in Florida neighborhood.” It was found in Florida and that is super scary! Gizmo — a shih tzu — and Teddy — half poodle, half shih tzu — dashed to the side yard to sniff out a large, shiny dark object.

“I wasn’t thinking what it was, because it was so large,” said Remsberg, who trailed behind her dogs.
A nine-foot-long green anaconda reared its head, veering toward the two pooches.
“It raised its head up like it … like snapping at them … like lurching at them to make them back off,” Remsberg said. “I started screaming for the dogs right away.”
Teddy hurried back into the house. Gizmo was still curious, brave or something else.
“He’s the not-so-smart one,” Remsberg said.
Remsberg dialed 911.
“I did not know what it was,” she said. “I knew it was not good. I was just screaming, ‘There’s just this huge, huge snake!'”
Remember to always be cautious in your own back yard.

My article is about wreckage that could possibly be from the Malaysia Airlines flight that vanished almost two years ago. The article is on USA Today and is titled, “Debris could be linked to doomed Malaysia flight.” A piece of curved metal that appears it could be from a plane was found on the coast of Thailand. “Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said Sunday that Thai authorities had invited his investigators after a large piece of white, curved metal was found by a fisherman in Thailand’s Nakhon Si Thammarat province.” He also said, “I urge everyone not to speculate on the wreckage found in Thailand,” he said in a tweet Sunday. “Let’s wait for the experts to verify details.” In case you didn’t know Flight MH370 disappeared after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 8, 2014, bound for Beijing with 239 people aboard. Months of aerial and sea searches over thousands of square miles of the southern Indian Ocean turned up no trace of the plane. In July 2015, a piece of a wing was found off the coast of the French island of Reunion. A week later Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed it was from the doomed plane after French analysts matched the plane parts. Reunion is more than 3,000 miles southwest of the site of the Thai find. I really hope the lost flight is found just to give the victims’ family’s a piece of mind.

My article is about a new species of dinosaur that was recently discovered. That article was on USA Today. The title is, “Meet ‘Dracoraptor,’ a new species of dinosaur.” This is very interesting because if they are able to extract DNA they may be able to replicate living specimens. This could mean good or bad things for our world, but it is still very interesting.
