A Life in Football

I woke up from the horrible dream where I can’t play football . I try to fall asleep with a good dream this time.

I realized where I was now, I’m back in Shreveport at the super bowl . It’s all tied at tweleve points each. It’s down to the final play where I scored the final touchdown and won the game. That’s the most important play of football that I played in.

Football has been the most important thing in my life. Through my life football has tought me many things like quick thinking , determination, and teamwork. I think the reason football is so important to me is because it’s been my escape from the bad and worry of the world and the situations of my life, but when I step on the field and smell the fresh cut grass, and the smell of the football helmets it’s the best. It’s that feeling when it’s just you and the guy across from you and it’s who’s going to win the battle. When you get that feeling of accomplishment when you win the game, or beat the guy across from you, it’s amazing!

The worst thing that has happened to me is when the doctor discovered that I had a blood disorder that could possibly make me have a brain bleed if I got hit in the head hard . The doctor told me after many blood tests that it was possible I would never play sports ever again. That thought just crushed me into a million pieces. Think about one thing, how would you take it if the most important thing to you is ripped away and casted out too far for you to reach. Imagine what a relief it would be to be told you could play. The doctor told me I was alright to play but with extra padding and precautions.
I awake from the beautiful dream and start to get ready for our football game and I paused to think,”don’t let setbacks keep you from your dreams” , as I’m reminded by the statement that is stained to my brain as we march onto the field of battle “Play every minute like its your last”.
